Why baritone, why now

PRS just built its first-ever hollowbody baritone.

The new PRS SE Ed Sheeran Hollowbody I Piezo Baritone is the first hollowbody baritone PRS has ever made. It has a long 27.7 inch scale and ships tuned down to B standard, a full fourth below a regular guitar. That low range is the whole appeal, and it is also exactly what a patch built for a regular guitar gets wrong.

JV BARI was built with that guitar in mind. It is dialed for the range a baritone lives in, so you get the depth without having to fight your own rig for it.

The eight snapshots

Snapshots are the eight variations living inside this one preset. You switch between them with your feet. Press play on any of them to hear it.

Audio is raw Helix output, trimmed and encoded to MP3. No EQ, no added reverb, and no leveling, so the loudness differences you hear between snapshots are real. Snapshots 3, 7 and 8 sit louder on purpose as lead lifts, and the setup guide shows how to level them if you would rather they did not.

What you need

Make sure it fits your rig.

  • Works with: Helix Floor, Helix LT, Helix Rack, Helix Native
  • A computer, Mac or Windows. Helix presets load through HX Edit, which is free from Line 6. The Helix has no USB stick port, no card slot, and no wireless, so a computer and a USB cable are the only way any preset gets on there. It does not have to be your computer, and it is a five minute job.
  • Firmware 3.11 or newer. If you are older than that, update before buying.
  • Does not work with: HX Stomp, HX Stomp XL, HX Effects, POD Go, or Helix Stadium. Those units use their own preset formats.
  • No IRs required. Stock Line 6 amp and cab, so there is nothing extra to buy or load.
  • Built for going direct to front of house, an FRFR cab, studio monitors, or headphones.

Do I need that exact PRS to use it?

No. That guitar is the inspiration, not a requirement. JV BARI is voiced for baritone guitar in general.

Do I need to buy impulse responses?

No. It runs on a stock Line 6 amp and cab, so there is no IR to purchase and no "IR could not be found" error. Import one file and play.

What exactly do I get?

A zip with the preset, a two-page PDF setup guide, the same guide as plain text, and the license.

Do I need a computer to load it?

Yes. Every Helix preset, from anyone, installs through HX Edit on a Mac or Windows computer over USB. The Helix has no flash drive port, no memory card slot, and no wifi. HX Edit is a free download from Line 6, and once the preset is on your Helix it stays there.

Can I use it on my recordings and at church?

Yes. Records, releases, live shows, services, streams, videos, commercial or not. No extra fee and no credit required. The only thing you cannot do is resell or share the file itself.

What if I need help?
